"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
- Mark Twain -
To be frank, there are things I may have done that I ended up wishing I hadn't. But the truth is, in most, I get excited and inspired when sharing about the experiences especially to someone who has never done so or someone who may be in the situation that I was in and is looking for a way out. I have the confidence to be a teacher of the issue because I have the experience. So, In the end, I never regret something I have done before, despite the result I may have had. Here I am talking of things done with good intentions. That fact leaves me with nothing to regret but only appreciate the attempts and wealth of experience gained.
What I at times regret is this; The things I didn't do.
The days, months or even years I wasted in procrastination. The calls I didn't make, the mails I never sent, the places I never visited, the help I never gave, the opportunity I never grasped in good time and everything else that I could but didn't. I can never reverse time nor recover my youth. But I've learnt to face life differently now. With every possibility, I make every effort to do that which I ought to do, when I ought to do it and try my level best not to leave for tomorrow that which I can do today. I desire that twenty years from now, I remember today and thank God that I did whatever it is that I am now doing.
What about you?
What is it that you've been procrastinating for days months or even years? You din't do it yesterday and tomorrow may be far off. The best time to do it is now. Let twenty years from now find you with a satisfaction that ...... Yes!!! you did it.
